NCGG Irish Festival
The North Country Goes Green Irish Festival is excited to report that they have secured international starts "The Glenngary Bhoys" to headline the 11th floor stage on March 12th 2010. "This is a big band that packs a punch and we're excited to have them with us for our 25th anniversary" said Dick Gaffney co Chair of the festival. Festival organizers aren't sparing any expense when it comes to entertainment this year. "We really wanted to make sure that we got the best entertainers out there for our 25th Anniversary" Gaffney said.
The bands web site describes the band as "bold, unorthodox, vibrant, and evocative, the GLENGARRY BHOYS' hybrid of Canadian Highland Scots and French Canadian musical idioms has evolved into a sound that is weighty, authoritative, and extremely entertaining. Their energy and good humor, as much a part of the show as their musicianship, crosses all cultures and ages. "
"With their infectious fusion of rock and Celtic styles, the Ontario based Glengarry Bhoys are making their mark on the Irish American music scene." - The Irish Echo
This years festival will start early this year with the recently announced concert with "Ireland's #1 Ballot and Folk group" The Dublin City Ramblers and Searson. We are just amazed that we were able to pull off rounding up this caliber of talent for the Irish Festival. To have all of the greats preforming in one weekend is truly historic for the North Country" said Sean Hennessey, Entertainment Director for the Irish festival. "Our talent pool is usually top notch" Hennessey said" but this year we really went above and beyond."
