Irish Ropes ready to do Duddy deal

January 14, 2009 Irish Ropes Promotions are willing to let John Duddy go: but for a price. "I'd rather look for a settlement and walk away," Eddie McLoughlin, Irish Ropes' president, said last Saturday trying to avoid a court battle. "It's better for everyone if there's a resolution."
He declined to say how much he was looking for to release his world-ranked middleweight [25-0, 17 KOs] whom he signed to a three-year promotional contract in 2006. Duddy also wants to break ties with manager Tony McLoughlin, Eddie's younger brother. Read on..
