"ECHOES" RETURNS TO WATN

THE ECHOES OF IRELAND
RADIO SHOW RETURNS TO THE
AIR ON 1240 WATN
(WATERTOWN NY)

The North Country Goes Green Irish Festival is pleased to announce that the "Echoes of Ireland" Radio Show will return to the air waves on January 31st 2009. Echoes Host and Entertainment Director for the "North Country Goes Green" Irish Festival, Sean Hennessey said "This program is a great way to highlight the abundance of Irish music, tradition and culture in the North Country."

"Echoes of Ireland" will broadcast every Sunday from Noon to 1pm on Watertown's own 1240 WATN. Listeners that miss the live show will now be able to listen to recorded shows at the soon to be released festival web site http://www.ncirishfest.com/

Each week listeners can tune in to the best Irish Music from traditional to contemporary, from here at home, to across the globe. Traditional Bands like The Clancy Brothers, Tommy Makem, Finbar Furey and more contemporary tunes from The Saw Doctors , The Pogues Echoes also highlights Sports News and Current Events as well as the History of the Irish people at home and abroad.

"Our show is unique," the host said " the people here have a real connection to their Ancestral Homeland. There is a thriving AOH chapter in Watertown, and a World Class Irish Step Dancing School (Johnston School of Irish Step Dancing) and who can forget the contributions of people like Alex P. Duffy to the community? We're lucky to have a big, proud population with Irish roots, heritage and history. The Irish Festival and the radio show have a growing audience every year... which proves the Irish spirit is alive and well in the North Country."

Echoes of Ireland accepts requests and is pleased to announce births, marriages, birthdays and special events in the Community. What better way to honor a loved one than to play a traditional ballad like"Danny Boy" or "When Irish Eyes are Smiling"? Or why not celebrate with some of the great rowdy or rebel songs from "The Wolfetones" or your favorite local artists like "Casey Street Shuffle" or "Searson"?
